I recommend changing it while you are there. My mechanic said the same and the day after timing belt was changed the tensioner started making noise. Had to go back in and get it changed at 5x the cost of what it would of been if we had changed it when the car was apart.

With a Pajero with that many k's I would agree 100% and I would also dish out a few extra $$ and get the genuine tensioner

Although we are still waiting on stock from Japan we do these tensioners genuine for the $175 mark
